Colorado Hybrid Car Rebate

 

For tax years beginning on or after July 1, 1998, Colorado income tax credits are available for the purchase of an alternative fuel vehicle, for a motor vehicle that is converted to use alternative fuel, or for the replacement of the power source with a power source that uses alternative fuel. To qualify, the vehicle must be titled and registered in Colorado. For a rebate FYI, click here.

 

Rebate Information:

  • Application must be filed within 12 months of purchase.
  • Leasees must include a letter from the owner of the car authorizing them to apply for the rebate.
  • The vehicle must be titled and registered in the state of Colorado.

 

Rebate Materials:

  • Colorado Title
  • Colorado Registration
  • Purchase Order or Warrant
  • Documentation of EPA Emissions Certificate
  • Invoice detailing Price
  • Purchase Invoice - OEM
  • Colorado Department of Revenue Account Number

Though current hybrid car tax incentives/rebates are being phased out, consumers can look forward to rebates of up to $5000 in 2005.

Current hybrid cars can get up to 60 miles to the gallon on the highway. In addition to fuel economy, they boast lower emissions and depreciation than gasoline powered cars.

 

In the near future, hybrid cars are expected to get fuel mileage as high as 190 miles per gallon!
